Two Mexico stars enter the Top 100 best players of the 2026 World Cup group stage
Roberto Alvarado and Julián Quiñones were the only Mexican players included among the 100 best players of the 2026 World Cup group stage, according to Statiskicks. Both arrive in great form for the Round of 32 clash against Ecuador.
Two Mexicans among the World Cup elite
The Mexican National Team not only closed a historic group stage with a perfect record, but also began to receive individual recognition. Julián Quiñones and Roberto Alvarado were the only representatives of El Tri to enter the Top 100 highest-rated players during the first stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, according to Statiskicks’ statistical analysis.
The recognition comes just before the Round of 32 clash against Ecuador, where both players will be key pieces in the ambitions of Javier Aguirre’s team.
Julián Quiñones dominating
The Al-Qadsiah forward has been one of the most complete attackers of the tournament. In addition to scoring two goals and starting all three matches, Quiñones ranks among the World Cup’s best in several offensive categories.
Among his most notable numbers are:
- 3rd in receptions between the opponent’s midfield and defensive lines.
- 3rd in duels won.
- 4th in offensive duels won.
- 7th in key passes.
- 7th in shots on target.
- 8th in fouls won.
These numbers reflect the influence the attacker has had both in chance creation and finishing.
Roberto Alvarado also recognized
Roberto Alvarado’s strong level during the group stage was also enough to place him among the 100 highest-rated players of the tournament, establishing him as one of the most consistent players in the Mexican squad.
His ability to create danger and contribute on both sides of the field has been key for Mexico to complete an almost perfect group stage.
Mexico arrive confident for the clash against Ecuador
El Tri’s collective performance has been accompanied by standout individual displays. With Quiñones and Alvarado in excellent form, Mexico face Ecuador with two of the highest-rated players from the entire group stage.
Now, the challenge will be to carry that level into the knockout stage, where the margin for error disappears and any detail can make the difference in the pursuit of a place in the Round of 16.
