FC Barcelona has once again surprised with its strategy of combining music and football. This time, the club announced that the British band Coldplay will feature on the commemorative 125th-anniversary jersey, which the team will wear on October 26th in *El Clásico* against Real Madrid. However, this partnership with artists is not new: in recent years, Barça’s jersey has featured iconic figures such as Drake, Karol G, Rosalía, and The Rolling Stones.

History Hides In The Background

The first collaboration took place with Drake, the Canadian rapper, who was selected for a special edition of the jersey in October 2022. This partnership celebrated a major milestone: the artist's 50 billion streams on Spotify.  

After the success of that first initiative, Spanish artist Rosalía energized fans with her signature "Motomami" logo printed on the Barcelona kit, reflecting her passion for the historic blaugrana club.  

Next, it was the turn of Colombian singer Karol G, whose logo appeared on the Barça jersey last season, positioning her as the fourth artist to collaborate with the club.  

Meanwhile, the legendary British band The Rolling Stones also joined this trend with a collaboration that did not go unnoticed. Their unmistakable tongue logo was displayed on the front of the blaugrana kit, connecting generations of fans from both music and football. This partnership was warmly welcomed by supporters, who appreciated the classic touch brought by the iconic band.  

These collaborations are part of Barça’s innovative partnership with Spotify, one of the club’s most prominent sponsors. Through this alliance, FC Barcelona has managed to connect football passion with the cultural influence of music, creating a global impact beyond sports. The next chapter in this series will come with Coldplay, a band that has had a special connection with the club since Pep Guardiola's golden era, when “Viva la Vida” became an unofficial anthem of the team.
