Ruben Amorim's tenure at Manchester United began with a disappointing draw against Ipswich Town, despite goalkeeper André Onana being the standout performer for his team. Despite an early lead just 1 minute and 21 seconds into the game, United failed to secure a win against one of the league's lower-ranked teams.

The match, played at the home of the second-to-last team in the standings, didn't light up even with an early advantage provided by Marcus Rashford's goal, set up by Amad Diallo. 

The winger, for whom United paid Atalanta 21 million euros four years ago, managed to evade several defenders to assist Rashford, who got ahead of everyone including goalkeeper Muric who failed to intercept the ball.

This early lead did not suffice for United, which later faded in attack and was pressured by Ipswich. Onana was the only reason United maintained their lead until the 43rd minute when Hutchinson's left-foot strike, deflected by Mazraoui, made it impossible for Onana to save. The performance of Onana highlighted the challenges faced by Amorim in his first match in charge, underscoring the task ahead in living up to the expectations set by his arrival.
