Guardiola was asked about his decision regarding his future, and this is what he said
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, refused to talk about his future, saying that “when it has to happen, it will happen.”
The Spanish manager’s contract with the 'Sky Blues' expires on June 30, after nine years in charge, during which he has won everything, including six Premier League titles and the club’s first-ever Champions League.
However, Guardiola’s possible renewal is in doubt, and this Saturday, during the match against Fulham, Manchester fans will display a banner asking the coach to stay, amidst rumors that this could be his last season.
“I’m not going to talk about this topic, when it happens, it will happen,” he said about his future.
Guardiola’s future may be tied to the trial concerning the 115 financial charges that the Premier League has brought against City, with a verdict expected in early 2025. The Sampedor native has said both that he would leave if he found out he had been lied to and that he would stay even if the club had to play in League One (English third division).
