Klopp Laments The Unpunished Penalty by Doku on Mac Allister
The Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, lamented the referee's failure to award a penalty to his team, in added time, for a challenge by Belgian Jeremy Doku on Argentine Alexis Mac Allister, in the clash at Anfield against Manchester City, which ended in a one-all draw.
"It was a clear penalty. 100%. It's a foul anywhere on the pitch and also a yellow card. It's clear it was a penalty. If the ball wasn't there, he would have killed him," said Klopp about the incident inside the visitors' box where Doku kicked Mac Allister in the chest. "For anyone who watches football on this planet, it's a penalty; if you think it's not, then maybe you're not a football person."
However, Klopp wanted to highlight the work of his players. "We can play football as we have done. I've seen very good individual performances from our players."
Regarding the draw, the German coach indicated that his team showed "where it should be. We're going to fight for the title. Let's see where we end up. We were very good. There were many good things," he said.
"The match was of high quality, a great game. It was our best match against City. We had never dominated so much. Especially in the second half. We should have scored two or three goals," Klopp added.
