Luis Díaz's Father Freed After Twelve Days of Kidnapping
Luis Manuel Díaz, father of soccer player Luis Díaz from Liverpool and the Colombian national team, was released on Thursday after being kidnapped for twelve days by the guerrilla group National Liberation Army (ELN), according to local media.
The player's father was handed over to a humanitarian commission consisting of the UN and the Catholic Church in the foothills of the Perijá mountain range, near the town of Barrancas, in the Caribbean department of La Guajira. He was kidnapped on October 28 and will be transported by helicopter to Valledupar, the capital of the Cesar department.
