Mudryk Challenges Chelsea Fan to a $12,600 One-on-One Game
The Ukrainian winger didn't appreciate the criticism he received on social media from a Chelsea fan and responded by challenging him. Here's what he said.
Chelsea fans are not experiencing the best phase of the club after the team's poor results, suffering two heavy defeats against Liverpool and Wolves, conceding four goals in each match.
Supporters demand more from their players to lift Chelsea out of the difficult situation they are in. One of them is Mykhaylo Mudryk, for whom the London club spent $75 million to acquire from Shakhtar.
The Ukrainian hasn't taken the criticism well. Specifically, that of a Blue supporter who sent him a private message via social media.
"Did you forget how to play football? It's not good enough. Something needs to change. Maybe do some 1-on-1 sessions. Every time you play we have one player less," the supporter wrote to Mudryk.
A message that the Ukrainian didn't ignore and responded by challenging the fan. "Come play 1-on-1 for £10,000 ($12,600)," replied the Blue winger.
The fan's response was humorous: "Bro at this point I personally give you money every time you score". And Mudryk persisted: "You good at football?".
However, the fan asked him to focus on the next match against Everton and to score. Scoring is precisely one of the pending tasks for the Ukrainian this season, as he has only scored 4 goals in 25 matches.
Chelsea is currently closer to relegation positions (12 points behind Everton, 18th place) than European spots (13 points behind Tottenham, 5th).
