Salah Matched an Impressive Record of Messi with Barcelona: Does He Deserve the Ballon d'Or?
Salah has managed to score and assist in 11 different matches this season in the Premier League.
The latest victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium showed that, barring a historic disaster, Liverpool will be crowned Premier League champions in Arne Slot's first season at the Anfield bench. A title for which Mohamed Salah will have a big part of the credit after matching an impressive record of Leo Messi.

Salah has scored and assisted 11 times in the same match with Liverpool
Salah, just like in the first-leg match, was the player who scored the first goal of the match against Manchester City and, a few minutes later, provided the assist for the 0-2 in favor of Szobozslai. A record that no one had achieved against the reigning champions in Premier League history, with which he reached 51 goal involvements this season.
Scoring and assisting in the same match is nothing new for Mohamed Salah. In fact, he has done it 42 times in the Premier League. This season, he has done it 11 times, matching a record of Leo Messi from the 2014/15 season when he won the treble of League, Cup, and Champions League with FC Barcelona.
Will Salah renew his contract with Liverpool?
At 32 years old, Mohamed Salah is having the best season of his career and is now the top favorite to win the Ballon d'Or. More than enough merit for Liverpool to offer him a new contract in an effort to keep him at all costs before he leaves for free at the end of the season.
Arne Slot, his coach, recently said, "I hope he extends his contract" and also issued a warning: "If you want to play for Liverpool, you need to be at Salah's level. Otherwise, you're not qualified to play for this club." For now, there are still no updates on the matter, and as Slot says, "The better he plays... the more expensive he will be."
