Ten Hag Extends Contract with Manchester United
The Dutch technical director renewed his contract to continue on the Manchester United bench until 2026.
Something that has been in the works for several weeks is finally official today. The Dutchman, Erik Ten Hag, has reached an agreement with the Manchester United board and expressed his happiness after confirming a contract extension to stay with the "Red Devils" until 2026.
Ten Hag fought for and earned his renewal thanks to the two titles he won with United, the most recent being against their fierce rivals, Manchester City, in the 2024-2025 FA Cup final. However, the coach knows there's still a long way to go to achieve the team's next goals: European and English titles.
The club’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, also gave a statement, saying that Ten Hag is the best option for the team. "The club’s review of last season highlighted areas that needed improvement, but we also concluded that Erik was the best partner we could have to elevate our level and results," Ashworth said.
