Kai Havertz Suffers New Injury Blow and Complicates Arteta’s Plans at Arsenal
Just when he was regaining rhythm and confidence, another setback hits at the worst possible moment.
Just as Momentum Was Building
Arsenal FC have received unwelcome news at a time when Kai Havertz was beginning to reestablish himself in Mikel Arteta’s starting plans. The 26-year-old had returned in mid-January after recovering from a knee injury suffered on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
With Mikel Merino sidelined, Havertz had grown in importance, contributing two goals and two assists in his last four appearances across competitions.
The Muscle Injury That Stops Him
That upward trajectory has now been interrupted by a muscle injury that will keep him out of upcoming fixtures. According to reports in England, the German forward is expected to miss matches against Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur.
There is cautious optimism inside the club that the setback will not extend beyond those games, but the timing could hardly be worse.

A Pattern That Raises Concern
Injuries have previously disrupted Havertz’s rhythm at the Emirates. Last season, his absence was one of the factors that weakened Arsenal’s late push in the title race. He featured in 23 Premier League matches, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.
In his debut campaign in North London, he registered 13 goals and seven assists in 37 league appearances, underlining his influence within Arteta’s system.
More Than Just a Short-Term Absence
For Arteta, losing Havertz means sacrificing versatility and tactical flexibility in the attacking third. For the player, it represents another delay in building consistent momentum during a demanding stretch of the season.
Arsenal will hope this is only a minor pause rather than a prolonged setback. Just when Havertz appeared ready to hit top form again, he must now focus on recovery — and starting over once more.
