Liverpool Move for Ismaïla Sarr to Strengthen Their Attack

Liverpool are accelerating their plans in the final days of the transfer window and have a new name on the table to strengthen their attack. Ismaïla Sarr, one of Crystal Palace’s standout players, has emerged as a target for the Reds as they look to give Andoni Iraola another option out wide.

According to reports in England, Liverpool have started seriously exploring a move for the Senegal international. There has even been talk of an offer worth around £50 million, although taking the winger away from Selhurst Park will not be easy.

Crystal Palace are under no pressure to part ways with one of their most important players, and Sarr remains under contract with the club.

Liverpool, however, need more attacking depth, and the Senegalese winger’s profile fits perfectly with what Iraola is looking for.

Sarr Already Knows How to Shine in the Premier League

This is where one of Ismaïla Sarr’s biggest advantages comes into play.

He would not need time to discover English soccer.

The winger previously played for Watford before moving to France with Olympique de Marseille, and he returned to the Premier League when he joined Crystal Palace in 2024.

His most recent season further confirmed his importance to the London club. Sarr was named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season for the 2025-26 campaign, two awards that reflected his impact both on the pitch and inside the dressing room.

His speed and ability to attack space could also work extremely well in a Liverpool side that, under Iraola, wants to play aggressive and vertical soccer.

An Immediate Solution for Iraola

Liverpool need players who can contribute from the very beginning.

Mohamed Salah is no longer at the club, Luis Díaz has also departed, and Iraola himself has acknowledged that he needs more alternatives to build a squad capable of competing throughout the entire season.

Sarr offers something particularly valuable in that situation: experience.

At 28, he knows the Premier League extremely well, can operate from the right wing and has the pace and power to attack defenses directly. He would not simply be a signing for the future, but a player ready to take on significant minutes immediately.

The obstacle is in London.

Crystal Palace consider the Senegalese international an important part of their squad, and manager Pierre Sage has made it clear that a potential departure would not be straightforward.

That means Liverpool will have to decide just how far they are willing to go.

The transfer window is entering its final days, and Andoni Iraola is still waiting for more weapons in attack.

Now, Ismaïla Sarr is one of the names gaining momentum, a player who has already proven he can make a difference in the Premier League and who could find the next major challenge of his career at Anfield.
