Manchester City must stay united, insists Erling Haaland

In the midst of the storm over the Premier League ruling, Erling Haaland delivered a message of calm and unity.

A ruling that shakes the Premier

Manchester City is going through turbulent times after being found guilty by an independent committee of breaching Premier League financial regulations between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons. Additionally, they were charged with most of the offenses for not cooperating with the investigation. Although the club appealed the verdict and maintains its innocence, the impact is enormous; during that period, the Citizens won three league titles, which generates a deep debate about the legitimacy of those achievements.

Haaland calls for unity and optimism

In this context, Erling Haaland spoke up and sent a message of cohesion before visiting Anfield to face Liverpool. "We have to stick together. We have to stick together and stay positive," affirmed the forward. "It doesn't matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile. We have to look ahead, enjoy the situation, and win matches. We have to spread love among ourselves. So yes, staying united, enjoying the journey, and smiling." The Norwegian, who was already a key player in City's last victory in Liverpool, seeks to keep the locker room strong despite external pressure.

Personal connection with England and the club

Haaland, who joined City in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund and has already accumulated eight titles, also spoke about his relationship with England and the institution. "I care a lot about this place—and the United Kingdom in general. My mother and father lived here for ten years, in Nottingham and Leeds. I spent my first four years here, my brother nine, and my sister six, so it's a special place for us. I care a lot about City, I have to say it. I care a lot about the fans because I am a fan myself, I feel it with them too." With 169 goals in 205 official matches, the 26-year-old forward has established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the world and is now seeking for his leadership both on and off the field to be key in helping City overcome this critical moment.
