Mikel Arteta Renews With Arsenal Until 2030 After Winning the Premier League

  • Mikel Arteta will remain with Arsenal for several more years. The club made a key decision about its manager’s future after a season that changed the Gunners’ direction forever.

Mikel Arteta Will Remain in Charge of Arsenal

Arsenal confirmed the renewal of Mikel Arteta with a new long-term contract that keeps the Spanish coach at the club until June 2030. The decision ensures continuity for a project that began in December 2019 and has continued to grow in stature over the years.

The announcement comes at a particularly significant moment for the Gunners. After several years of rebuilding, the team finally returned to the top of English soccer, and the club's leadership has now decided to keep the same man at the helm of the project.

As a result, Arteta has removed any uncertainty surrounding his short-term future and will remain tied to Arsenal for the coming seasons, just as the club looks to turn its recent success into a much longer-lasting period of achievement.

The Title That Changed Everything for Arteta

The renewal is directly connected to what happened during the 2025-2026 season. Arsenal won the Premier League and ended a 22-year wait, reclaiming a championship they had not won since the 2003-2004 season.

Likewise, the coach has overseen around 360 matches in charge of Arsenal and has become one of the most important managers in the club's recent history. His tenure also includes an FA Cup and three Community Shields, in addition to the league title that ultimately changed the perception of his project.

Arsenal and Arteta Are Aiming Even Higher

The renewal also includes the continued presence of much of Arteta's coaching staff, a sign that Arsenal wants to preserve the structure that has taken the team to this point. The ownership, led by Stan and Josh Kroenke, has publicly backed the manager and highlighted his connection to the club's values.

According to information from BBC Sport, the new agreement also includes a significant salary increase compared with the contract signed in September 2024.

With players such as Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice, David Raya, Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino, along with young talents beginning to make an impact, Arsenal has a strong foundation to continue competing for trophies.

The Champions League, the Major Outstanding Goal

Winning the Premier League has opened a new chapter, but Arteta still has the Champions League left to conquer. Arsenal has already come close to European glory, including a final against PSG, as well as a semifinal appearance previously.

The coach himself has spoken about his desire to build a new history for Arsenal. After bringing the Premier League back to the Emirates, the next chapter is to keep the club at the top and pursue the trophy that is still missing from his project.
