FC Porto Return to Liga Portugal After Champions League With Top Spot Intact
The Dragons return to domestic action having won every league match, with Samu Aghehowa regaining an important role after spending seven months sidelined through injury.
FC Porto return to Liga Portugal following their Champions League appearance, which ended in a 1-0 defeat against PSV. The Dragons now resume domestic competition with a perfect record and sole possession of first place.
The Portuguese champions have won every league match so far, although their latest victory, a 2-1 win over Marítimo, was only secured in the closing stages.
Their domestic form contrasts with their European campaign, where they have yet to collect a point following defeats to Real Betis and PSV.
However, recent weeks have also brought a welcome development for Porto: the return of Samu Aghehowa.
Samu Aghehowa returns to scoring and the starting lineup
Spanish international Samu Aghehowa recently returned to action after spending seven months out through injury.
The striker scored in the 3-2 defeat against Real Betis before returning to the starting lineup against PSV, a match Porto lost 1-0.
Although neither European fixture ended in victory, Samu has begun to regain an important role following his lengthy absence.
The Dragons' squad also includes Spanish players Gabri Veiga and Borja Sainz.
