Milan and Feyenoord Reach an Agreement for Santiago Giménez
The future of Santiago Giménez is now set. AC Milan has reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign the Mexican striker in a transfer worth more than €35 million, including bonuses and significant resale clauses.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his X account: "Santiago Giménez to AC Milan. The deal is now closed, Feyenoord accepts the final offer sent today. Package worth more than €35 million, including add-ons and an important resale clause."
Giménez is expected to travel to Italy this Saturday to complete his medical exams and sign his contract with the Rossoneri. His desire to move to a higher-level league was key in the negotiations, as Feyenoord tried to keep him until the summer, but the Mexican forward insisted that Milan was his next destination.
Giménez leaves Feyenoord after an impressive Champions League campaign, scoring five goals in the group stage, along with seven goals in the Eredivisie. Interestingly, his new team will face the Dutch club in the Champions League playoffs, meaning he could go up against his former teammates in his European debut with Milan.
With this transfer, the 22-year-old forward becomes the most expensive sale in Feyenoord’s history and the most valuable Mexican player ever transferred from the Dutch club. Now, the challenge of succeeding in Serie A lies ahead.
