Gianluigi Buffon’s Son Scores His First Professional Hat-Trick and Shines With Czechia U-19
The Buffon legacy lives on… but now at the opposite end of the pitch. At just 17 years old, Louis Thomas dazzled with a hat-trick that’s already making noise across Europe.
A Legendary Surname… With a Completely Different Role
The football world is used to the surname Buffon being synonymous with impenetrable goalkeeping, impossible saves, and unforgettable Champions League nights. But the new generation has chosen a very different path.
At just 17 years old, Louis Thomas Buffon —son of the iconic Gianluigi Buffon— is building his own identity as a forward, and he’s doing it by scoring goals. This Tuesday, he delivered his first professional hat-trick with the Czechia U-19 national team, adding an assist in a dominant 6–1 win over Azerbaijan in U-19 Euro qualifying.
A Talent Who Chose Czech Colors
Although born in Turin, Louis Thomas does not represent Italy. Due to the heritage of his mother, model and actress Alena Seredova, he chose to play for the Czech Republic. His rise has been meteoric: he debuted with the U-18s in February, scored in that category, and quickly earned promotion to the U-19 squad in September.

Until now, he hadn’t found the net… and he broke that drought in the most emphatic way possible — hat-trick, assist, and a performance that echoed across Europe.
His international future remains open: he is still eligible to play for Italy’s senior national team if he chooses to do so.
First Steps as a Professional
The young forward began his development in Juventus’ academy, where his father became a legend. In 2023, he moved to Pisa, making his professional debut last March in Serie B.
Pisa, now promoted to Serie A, has already given him minutes in the top flight: 13 minutes against Bologna in Matchday 4 of Serie A and 22 minutes versus Torino in the Coppa Italia.
His involvement with the first team is still limited, but his explosion with the Czech U-19s confirms that his progression is on the right track. The instinct, pace, and killer finishing he showed against Azerbaijan place him among the rising attacking prospects of European football.
