Will Mohamed Salah continue his flying start to Süper Lig life?

Although Trabzonspor may have been blowing hot and cold so far this season in the Süper Lig, the form of the team's Egyptian superstar has been scorching. Salah has already scored seven goals in six league matches, more than matching the expectations set after a blockbuster move from Liverpool.

Three of those goals came in a historic 4-0 thrashing of Galatasaray in the match before the international break. Trabzonspor fans will now be looking for the same consistency from the whole team. While Trabzonspor overwhelmed the reigning champions and put five past Genclerbirligi, there were also losses to the surprise league leaders, Amed SK, and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Trabzonspor will now be looking for back-to-back league wins at Samsunspor, a side in the relegation zone with four losses in a row.

Can Osimhen's return put Galatasaray back on track?

Although the Nigerian super striker plays at the different end of the pitch to have had a real influence in Galatasaray's disastrous result against Trabzonspor, Osimhen's expected return to the Galatasaray lineup after injury will still be welcomed.

The 4-0 loss to Trabzonspor in the final match before the prolonged international break sent shockwaves around the Süper Lig, especially due to the hattrick from Mohamed Salah. It was telling that the in the two league games that Osimhen missed through injury,

Gala scored just the single goal. Previously, the Nigerian forward had racked up six league goals in just four games.
Osimhen's return is timely as it boots the chances of Galatasaray moving back to the top of the Süper Lig standings in Friday's home league clash against Kasimpasa, as well as being ready for next Tuesday's glamour visit of Barcelona in the Champions League.

Will Fenerbahce build on record breaking win?

If the Fenerbahce coach, Ismail Kartal, called for a strong performance from his team to go into the international break, then the message was received loud and clear. Fenerbahce produced its biggest ever victory in Turkish Süper Lig history with an 8-0 win over Eyupsor.

Nevertheless, the win which saw four goals from Vedat Muriqi and a brace by Mason Greenwood, put a gloss on a topsy-turvy campaign so far from Fener in the Super Lig. The two results before the win were a goalless draw against Gaziantep and a damaging home loss to Besiktas.

However, the start of the season did receive a boost with qualification to the Champions League which sees Fener at Aston Villa on Wednesday. Before that though, it's a trip to take on Rizespor, another leg in a title race with very little margin for error.

Three Questions to Watch as the Süper Lig Returns

  • Mohamed Salah returns with seven goals in his first six league matches for Trabzonspor.
  • Victor Osimhen's expected return could give Galatasaray a major boost after the international break.
  • Fenerbahce will look to build on its record-breaking 8-0 victory as the title race resumes.
