How and Where to Watch: Galatasaray vs Amed SK LIVE on beIN SPORTS
Galatasaray face an unexpected challenger at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig. Newly promoted Amed SK are just two points behind the leaders, who must defend their position without injured striker Victor Osimhen.
Six months ago, Amed SK were celebrating promotion to Turkey's top flight. Now, the club from Diyarbakır have a chance to overtake Galatasaray at the top of the standings.
The two teams meet on Saturday, November 7, at 10:55 AM ET, with Galatasaray hosting the match LIVE on beIN SPORTS.
After ten rounds, Galatasaray lead the Turkish Süper Lig with 25 points, while Amed SK sit second with 23, having recorded seven wins, two draws and just one defeat.
The promoted side have also outscored the league leaders, finding the net 25 times compared with Galatasaray's 23 goals.
It is an impressive start for a team that was playing in the second division only six months ago.
Victor Osimhen Ruled Out With Knee Injury
Galatasaray will be without their leading striker for this crucial encounter.
Victor Osimhen sustained a left knee injury during the club's UEFA Champions League match against Stuttgart.
According to Galatasaray's medical statement, an MRI revealed a loose fragment inside the knee joint, prompting the decision to schedule arthroscopic surgery at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital.
The procedure will be performed by club doctor Yener İnce.
Osimhen has been withdrawn from the squad to face Amed SK, leaving Galatasaray without a player who has scored nine goals and provided three assists in just eight league appearances.
The club has not confirmed a timeline for his return.
Gift Orban Has a Chance to Move Ahead in the Scoring Race
The match brings together the clubs of the Süper Lig's joint-leading scorers, although only one is available to play.
Osimhen and Amed SK striker Gift Orban have each scored nine league goals this season.
With Osimhen sidelined, Orban has an opportunity to move ahead in the scoring charts while helping his team challenge Galatasaray for first place.
Amed SK have already shown they can compete with established top-flight opponents. Their 25 league goals are the highest total of the two teams heading into Saturday's meeting.
A victory would take the visitors above Galatasaray in the standings.
