Mohamed Salah emulates Cristiano Ronaldo with his hat-trick against Galatasaray

The Trabzonspor forward joins an exclusive list featuring several soccer stars who have scored hat-tricks against Galatasaray, the Turkish giants known as the Aslanlar.

Mohamed Salah once again showcased his scoring ability and secured a record that puts him directly alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. The Trabzonspor forward scored a hat-trick against Galatasaray in the Turkish Süper Lig, becoming one of the few players to accomplish the feat against the Istanbul giants since 2000.

SALAH JOINS CRISTIANO RONALDO

With his three goals in the 4-0 win over Galatasaray, Salah became the seventh player of the 21st century to score a hat-trick against the Istanbul club. He also provided an assist in a decisive individual performance.

The Egyptian forward is enjoying an impressive start since joining the club from Trabzon. At 34 years old, he has scored seven goals in his first six Süper Lig matches, making him the league’s leading scorer at this stage of the Turkish season.

A LIST FEATURING MAJOR STARS

The achievement is even more notable because Cristiano Ronaldo is also on the exclusive list. The Portuguese superstar scored three goals against Galatasaray in 2013, helping Real Madrid to a 6-1 victory in the Champions League.

Rodrygo is the other player to score a hat-trick against the Turkish club while wearing the Real Madrid shirt, doing so in the team’s 6-0 victory in 2019.

The list also includes Emanuel Adebayor, who scored two hat-tricks for Istanbul Başakşehir in 2017, as well as Danny Welbeck (2014), Stanislav Šesták (2011) and Eran Zahavi, who recorded the most recent hat-trick before Salah when he did so for PSV in 2021.
