Barcelona Wins Away Against Dortmund in the Champions League
FC Barcelona keeps their winning streak alive in the Champions League, securing their fifth straight win in the tournament, this time away at Signal Iduna Park against Borussia Dortmund, winning 3-2, with goals from Raphinha and a brace by Ferran Torres. For Şahin's side, the scorer was Guirassy, who netted two goals.
A thrilling match at Signal Iduna Park
Barcelona pulled off a crucial 2-3 win this Wednesday at Signal Iduna Park, where Borussia Dortmund had gone unbeaten in 13 straight Champions League games, showing great resilience and putting them second in the competition. The match also saw Ferran Torres, the unexpected hero, coming off the bench to score twice.
The Catalans, supported by more than 3,000 fans in the stands of a stadium where no visitor had won this year, started strong, targeting Kobel's goal early. Both Dani Olmo and Raphinha came close, missing by inches in two almost goal-line moments.
Ferran Torres: the unexpected hero
After a 1-1 tie from Guirassy's penalty, the introduction of Ferran Torres in the second half made all the difference. In the 75th minute, he pounced on a rebound from Kobel to put Barcelona 1-2 up after a shot by Fermín. Despite Dortmund equalizing soon after with another goal from Guirassy, Ferran sealed the win with a cross-shot in the 85th minute following a counter-attack led by Pedri and Lamine Yamal.
With this win, FC Barcelona under Hansi Flick moves into second place in the Champions League standings with 15 points, while Borussia Dortmund drops to 9th place with 12 points.
