Ferdinand Takes Aim at Guardiola and Manchester City: "We've Never Seen..."
The former Manchester United player discussed the crisis at Manchester City and delivered a damning statement.
Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United legend, stated that "we've never seen a Pep Guardiola team in such bad shape" after Manchester City lost to Juventus Turin on Wednesday.
The 'Sky Blues' have only won one of their last ten matches, falling behind in the Premier League race, where they are eight points off the top spot with one more match played. In the Champions League, they sit 22nd with eight points, ahead of a crucial match against Paris Saint-Germain on January 22.
"I think it still surprises us because of everything they've achieved in recent years," Ferdinand said on TNT Sports.
"They've been a formidable team, winning four Premier League titles in a row and having an impressive success record. But we've never seen a Guardiola team this bad. He has to find a way to strengthen them and get them back to a level of form and confidence. They're really under pressure now," added the former England defender.
The tough calendar continues for Guardiola's men, as they face Manchester United in the Premier League this Sunday. If they fail to beat Rúben Amorim's side, they could fall out of the top four.
