Haaland: "Messi is the Greatest of All Time"
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City forward, stated that Leo Messi "is the greatest of all time" and justified that Messi surpassed him in the Ballon d'Or and FIFA's The Best awards.
"He won those trophies and also won the World Cup. He is the best of all time, in my opinion," Haaland said in a press conference on Tuesday.
The Norwegian spoke to the press before facing Copenhagen in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.
"Last year I scored 36 goals and was the top scorer," Haaland said, in response to changes from the previous season to this one. "This season I am still the top scorer, with 18, so you can think it's been a good season or not for me. I think we are doing quite well as a team, and that's my goal. I have missed, I have missed many chances, and I will surely miss in the future, and people will criticize me. Do I have to think about it? No."
Regarding his mental health, Haaland mentioned that he has been working hard on it because it has been a challenge for him since he was young.
"I could start crying a lot if I missed many chances, so I've worked on it. It's been a challenge, and I demand a lot from myself, and people also demand a lot from me. It's something I work on."
