Linkin Park to kick off the UEFA Champions League Final with a pre-match show
UEFA has confirmed that legendary rock band Linkin Park will headline the pre-match show for the 2024/25 Champions League Final, set to take place on May 31 at Munich’s Allianz Arena. The California-based group follows in the footsteps of acts like Dua Lipa, Imagine Dragons, and Lenny Kravitz, and will bring the energy to the most anticipated football night of the year.
Comeback tour with a brand-new album
On the road with their From Zero tour—marking their first album release in seven years—Linkin Park will make a special stop in Germany for a show packed with nostalgia, energy, and a refreshed sound. “With the new album and this tour, the fan response has been overwhelming. We can't wait to bring that same energy to the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show,” the band said.
Unlike the Super Bowl halftime show, this performance will take place just minutes before kickoff, following the UEFA tradition started in 2016. Fans can expect a visual and musical spectacle, with the band's iconic guitar riffs and an exclusive remix debuting that night.
A new chapter for Linkin Park
After the passing of Chester Bennington in 2017, the band took time away to reflect and regroup. Now, with Emily Armstrong stepping in as lead vocalist and Colin Brittain on drums, Linkin Park returns with a fresh lineup and renewed spirit. “This is a whole new experience for us, and we’re pumped to perform some of our favorite songs—old and new—for the fans in the stadium and the millions watching around the world,” they added.
The show is sponsored by Pepsi, continuing its partnership with UEFA through 2030, and will be broadcast worldwide. While some networks previously chose not to air the performance, the buzz around such an iconic band might just change that this year.
We still don’t know which two clubs will battle for the trophy, but one thing’s for sure—before the opening whistle, Linkin Park will set the stage in the Allianz Arena for a night where music and football come together like never before.
