Paris Saint-Germain Know Its Rivals in New Champions League
The draw for the "New Champions League" has been held, and Paris Saint-Germain now knows its rivals for a first phase that promises to be thrilling.
Under the guidance of Luis Enrique, PSG will face Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, PSV Eindhoven, and Girona at home. As visitors, they will take on Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Red Bull Salzburg, and Stuttgart.
This initial stage, referred to as the "league phase" by UEFA, will feature eight matchdays from September 17 to January 29. All matches will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except for the first matchday, which will also include Thursday, and the final matchday, which will be on Wednesday and could be crucial for determining the Round of 16 lineup. The full schedule will be released on Saturday, the 31st.
The top eight teams will advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams finishing between 9th and 24th will play a two-legged knockout round in February to complete the Round of 16. Teams ranked between 25th and 36th will be eliminated, with no chance to move to another competition.
The tournament will then proceed with the current knockout format until the final on May 31, 2025, at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
