The Mental Game Bellingham Tried on Harry Kane During the Penalty
Jude Bellingham wasted no time and took advantage of the seconds before Bayern's penalty to unsettle his compatriot, Harry Kane.
During the first leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League semifinals between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, there was a lot of controversy that has sparked discussions among fans and the media, and one of them is what happened with Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane moments before Bayern turned the game around (2-1) with a penalty in the 57th minute.
At that moment, with Kane already standing at the penalty spot and the referee a few meters away preparing for the kick, the Madrid player approached the Bayern forward to distract and unsettle him; however, Kane's
expression remained unchanged, and he maintained the correct posture to take such an important penalty.
After the match, journalist Abraham P. Romero asked the German team's striker about what happened at that moment. "I really didn't know at that moment. I don't know what he said to me. Then I talked to him, and he
told me that he knew I was going to shoot to the left and that he was going to signal to the goalkeeper (Lunin). But yeah... the penalty was good," Kane commented.
"I saw that the goalkeeper was diving a little early and I was able to score it. But on the field, I didn't know what he (Bellingham) said. I knew he was there, but I didn't hear his voice," affirmed the Bayern forward.
