ALL GOALS: Bayern Munich vs Arsenal | UEFA Champions League

Arsenal Stun Bayern Munich with Dramatic Late Equalizer in UEFA Champions League Thriller

Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta and reigning English Premier League champions, stunned Bayern Munich with a dramatic 2-2 draw away from home on Wednesday in one of the most highly anticipated clashes of Matchday 3 of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League league phase. Bayern, the reigning German Bundesliga champions, appeared poised to secure the victory before the Gunners struck late to snatch a point.

ARSENAL DELIVER THE FIRST SURPRISE

The match got off to a tense and closely contested start, with Bukayo Saka's injury becoming an early setback for Arsenal. The English winger was forced off and replaced by Eberechi Eze, who made an immediate impact.

Eze broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, firing a low, angled shot from the left after a superb pass from Martin Ødegaard to give the visitors the lead.

HARRY KANE INSPIRES BAYERN MUNICH'S TITLE DREAMS

Harry Kane, a leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, delivered a standout performance with a goal and an assist.

However, Bayern Munich pushed desperately for an equalizer, and their efforts paid off in the 35th minute. Kane played a brilliant through ball from near the halfway line to Canadian star Alphonso Davies, who fired a right-footed shot from just outside the penalty area to bring the hosts level at 1-1.

In the second half, Manuel Neuer and David Raya came up with several outstanding saves as both teams threatened going forward. However, it was Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich who capitalized on their chances to turn the game around.

Harry Kane converted a penalty in the 61st minute to make it 2-1 after Jurriën Timber handled the ball while attempting to block a shot from the English striker.

ARSENAL'S LATE HEROICS AND DECLAN RICE'S MOMENT OF MAGIC

In the 82nd minute, Declan Rice combined brilliantly with Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres in a one-two down the right flank before finding the back of the net to silence the Allianz Arena. The Gunners snatched a point in the dying minutes to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw.

That was not the only setback for Bayern Munich, as Luis Díaz also suffered an injury. The Colombian winger came on as a second-half substitute but was later forced off due to discomfort.

The draw does little to help either UEFA Champions League title contender, with Bayern Munich stuck on five points while Arsenal moves up to seven in the league phase standings.
