Glasner: Palace require no extra motivation in bid to win Conference League
Crystal Palace's sights are set firmly on winning the Conference League, so says OIiver Glasner.
Oliver Glasner insists Crystal Palace require no extra motivation as they aim to win the Conference League.
Palace face Strasbourg on Thursday, with the French side sitting a point and two places above the Eagles in the standings.
Glasner's team are ninth, having taken six points from their three games so far.
Palace are handed a 55.5% win probability by Opta's supercomputer ahead of their trip to Strasbourg, and when Glasner was asked about winning the trophy outright, he said: "We always want to win and I think we don't need an extra motivation.
"It's the first time in the club's history we play European football and this is motivation enough.
"We enter every single competition to win it and have huge respect for every opposition, so the first goal is to win tomorrow, that's the most important thing."
Thursday's clash sees fifth place in Ligue 1 host fifth place in the Premier League.
And Glasner, who led Palace to an FA Cup triumph last season, has been impressed by Liam Rosenior's work at Strasbourg.
"They play fantastic football, they play a similar shape to what we play, 3-4-3, very similar patterns, and I like the intensity," he said.
"I was told they play with the highest intensity, the most intense runs out of possession here in France, and it's what I saw in the video.
"They have many young players and one or two more experienced players like Ben [Chilwell], a great mix, and so he [Rosenior] is doing a fantastic job."
