Ruben Amorim has urged the media not to put pressure on AC Milan teenager Alphadjo Cisse.
Amorim calms expectations around Milan youngster Cisse
The hype is increasing around AC Milan teenager Alphadjo Cisse, but Ruben Amorim believes the forward still has a long way to go.
The 19-year-old has made a name for himself in the Milan first team this season, highlighted by his display against Salzburg last time out in the Europa League.
Cisse scored a hat-trick for the Rossoneri in a 4-0 win over their Austrian counterparts, securing their first win in the competition this season.
With his treble, Cisse became the youngest Italian player in the history of major European competition to score a hat-trick.
Ahead of their trip to Bournemouth in the Europa League, Amorim has eased expectations around the youngster.
"I think we shouldn't blow the situation out of proportion and put pressure on the youngsters," said Amorim.
"We need to help them understand that football is a rollercoaster, everything can change in an instant.
"We're just getting started with Cisse, he's at 50% of his potential, he's still missing some top-level things.
"Let's give him time, he's doing well, we need to understand that football changes quickly."
Amorim has won six of his last seven Europa League group stage matches (L1), and has never lost an away game in the group stage (W4 D2).
However, he failed to beat Bournemouth in all three games as Manchester United manager (D2 L1), most recently a 4-4 draw in December 2025.
Milan have won just two of their 22 away major European matches in England (D7 L13), beating United in February 2005 and Newcastle United in December 2023 on their most recent visit.
When asked if he's seen any difference in Bournemouth since Marco Rose took over, Amorim said: "I feel the same rhythm and the same pressure, Rose is like that.
"They have quality, they're doing well in scouting, I don't see big differences in identity despite the changes in players. We have the responsibility to fight for the win."
