Novak Djokovic Destroys and Eliminates Carlos Alcaraz at Australian Open
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz (4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4) in the Quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
Dominant Djokovic at Grand Slams
The veteran Serbian, 37 years old and currently ranked seventh in the ATP standings, has won 10 of his 24 Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open, his most successful tournament, along with four additional titles at the US Open, also on hard courts.
Djokovic vs Alcaraz
Alcaraz’s three victories over Djokovic in their head-to-head meetings came on grass—the Wimbledon finals in 2023 and 2024—and on clay—the semifinal of the Madrid Masters 1000 in 2022.
The Belgrade native has beaten the Spaniard four times: twice on hard courts and twice on clay.
Paris witnessed two of Djokovic’s wins over Alcaraz, first in the semifinals of the 2023 Roland Garros and most recently in the final of last summer’s Olympic Games, which marks their most recent encounter.
On hard courts, like those at the Australian Open, Djokovic triumphed over Alcaraz in the 2023 Cincinnati Masters 1000 final and in the penultimate round of the Nitto ATP Finals held in Turin, Italy, later that year.
