West Ham's Cornet completes Genoa loan switch
Maxwel Cornet has joined Genoa on loan from West Ham United for the remainder of the season.
The winger had been on a season-long loan at Southampton, where he made just four appearances across all competitions.
However, he returned to the Hammers this week to facilitate a move to Partick Vieira's Serie A side.
Cornet has scored just one goal in 37 appearances for West Ham, but he was part of the squad that won the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Ivory Coast international links up with former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira at Genoa, which is 12th in Italy's top flight.
Cornet's move represents the first activity during the January transfer window for the Hammers, which have reportedly had a bid for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran rejected.
