Bayern remains on title course after thumping win
Bayern Munich restored its eight-point lead at the Bundesliga summit after thrashing third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0.
Michael Olise tapped in a Leroy Sane cutback in first-half stoppage time to grab the advantage for Vincent Kompany's host side, who had Joshua Kimmich taken off injured just before the break.
Bayern had been held to draws in their last two matches in all competitions but kept up the pressure in the next half, adding a second goal through Hiroki Ito in the 61st minute after Kevin Trapp misjudged a corner.
Harry Kane returned as a second-half substitute following his recovery from a calf injury, and Bayern should have scored a third with 12 minutes remaining but Sane fired wide from in front of goal.
Jamal Musiala atoned for Sane's miss after 83 minutes, charging forward and finishing the move with a well-taken solo effort.
Substitute Serge Gnabry slotted in his side's fourth in stoppage time, capitalising on fine work from Kingsley Coman before converting through the legs of the helpless Trapp.
The win kept Bayer Leverkusen – which Bayern faces in the Champions League last 16 – at bay, with Xabi Alonso's defending champion second on 50 points.
