Patrick Mahomes Gives Advice to Ravens’ Isaiah Likely After Controversial Loss
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 in a dramatic finish, with a last-minute touchdown attempt by the Ravens being nullified after review. Ravens receiver Isaiah Likely caught the ball in the end zone, but his foot was ruled out of bounds, leaving Baltimore empty-handed.
Patrick Mahomes, quarterback of the Chiefs, offered unexpected advice to Likely after the game.
"From my angle on the sideline, it looked like a touchdown," Mahomes said. "But in the first replay, you could see the shoe. It’s a great football team, and I’m sure we’ll see them again in the playoffs. We’re happy with the win now. My advice to him is to wear white shoes next time."
Likely had a standout performance with nine receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown, but the crucial moment was marred by controversy. "I thought it was a touchdown," said Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. "I still believe it was."
The game left the Ravens frustrated, not only with the final play but also with missed opportunities throughout. In addition to the end zone play, Jackson also missed a clear pass to Zay Flowers.
