Philadelphia Eagles to Kick Off NFL Season Against Dallas Cowboys
The 2025 NFL season is set to kick off with a bang as the reigning champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, take on the Dallas Cowboys on September 4 at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles’ home turf, the league announced this Monday.
It’ll be the 20th time the defending champs open the regular season — a tradition that’s been in place since 2004. Led by Jalen Hurts, the Super Bowl LIX MVP, the Eagles will begin their title defense against the Cowboys, who are coming into the season with Dak Prescott at quarterback and Brian Schottenheimer taking over as head coach.
International matchups locked in
The NFL will also unveil the full list of teams participating in the league’s seven international games later this week. So far, it’s confirmed that the Miami Dolphins will host a game at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, while the Los Angeles Chargers will play at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, September 5, as part of Week 1.
London will host three games: two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets will serve as the home teams, and another at Wembley Stadium with the Jacksonville Jaguars as hosts. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts will head to Berlin to play at the Olympiastadion, and the Pittsburgh Steelers will take the field at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.
Full schedule coming soon
The complete 2025 season schedule will be released this Wednesday, once all the international matchups are locked in. The league continues its push for global expansion, bringing the NFL experience to fans in new countries and cities around the world.
