LeBron James to Miss at Least One Week Due to Groin Injury
The veteran star will undergo further medical tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Los Angeles Lakers leader LeBron James will be sidelined for at least a week after suffering a groin injury during his team’s loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday, ESPN reported.
Medical Evaluation and Upcoming Games Without LeBron
At 40 years old, LeBron James had to leave the game in the final minutes of the fourth quarter at TD Garden due to discomfort in the affected area. According to sources, he is expected to be out for one to two weeks.
The Lakers, who had built an eight-game winning streak and won 18 of their last 21 games, saw their momentum halted with the loss in Boston. Now, without LeBron James, the team will be led by Slovenian star Luka Dončić, who recorded 34 points and eight rebounds in the matchup against the Celtics. The next challenges for the Lakers will be on Monday against the Brooklyn Nets and Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
