Hamilton shared his first photo as a Ferrari driver in Maranello (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), where he posed next to one of the brand's cars and the team flag. With his arrival, he takes over from Spanish driver Carlos Sainz. In his Instagram post, Hamilton stated: "I've been lucky enough to achieve things in my career that I never thought were possible, but part of me has always held on to the dream of racing in red."
The seven-time world champion also shared on social media: "There are days you know you'll remember forever, and today, my first day as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days." The Briton added: "I couldn't be happier to make that dream come true today. Today we begin a new era together in the history of this iconic team, and I can't wait to see what story we'll write together."
Hamilton, the Most Successful Driver in F1
Hamilton joins Ferrari after a successful stint with Mercedes, where he made his mark as the most victorious driver in F1 history, with 105 wins. Scuderia Ferrari, the runner-up in the constructors' championship last season, now has the most successful driver in Formula 1 history.
With Carlos Sainz moving to Williams Racing, Hamilton takes his place at Ferrari, while Sainz will join Alex Albon at the British team. Meanwhile, Mercedes has signed young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli to replace Hamilton, who will team up with George Russell next season.
