(VIDEO) The Catastrophic Hurricane Milton that’s Putting the Argentina National Team in Danger
The Argentina national football team is facing uncertainty as they prepare for their World Cup qualifier against Venezuela, with the looming arrival of Hurricane Milton in Florida. This Category 5 storm has set off alarms within the squad, currently based in Miami, one of the areas at risk of being hit by winds of up to 165 miles per hour. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Milton is expected to make landfall Wednesday night or early Thursday, further complicating Lionel Scaloni's team's travel plans.
Head coach Lionel Scaloni hasn’t hidden his concerns about the situation. In a press conference, he stressed that his players' safety is his main priority. “We wanted to travel today, but the flight was denied. We’re hoping to leave tomorrow if the weather allows,” Scaloni said. Flight restrictions and the dangerous weather conditions in Florida have made travel logistics to Venezuela difficult, adding to the uncertainty surrounding this crucial qualifying match.
