Ancelotti’s Lucrative Contract with Brazil: How Much Will the New Coach of the Seleção Earn?
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) officially announced on Monday, May 12 the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as the new head coach of the Brazil national team, ushering in a new era with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in sight. The Italian manager, currently still in charge of Real Madrid, will begin his new role on May 26, once the LaLiga EA Sports season concludes.
A Million-Euro Deal With Unique Clauses
According to Globoesporte, Ancelotti will sign an initial 14-month contract, with an option to extend after the World Cup. Although the CBF has not disclosed official figures, outlets such as El País and Diario AS report that the veteran coach will earn close to €10 million net per season.
The contract also includes a €5 million bonus if he manages to lead Brazil to World Cup glory in the United States in 2026.
One of the most striking elements of the deal is a special clause arranging a friendly match between Brazil and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, as a tribute to the most successful manager in Los Blancos history.
Official Debut and First Challenges Ahead
Ancelotti’s first match in charge of Brazil will be on June 6, when the Seleção face Ecuador in the opening round of South American World Cup Qualifiers. They will then host Paraguay on June 10 in São Paulo. His first squad list will be announced on May 27.

End of an Era in Madrid, New Era for Xabi Alonso
Ancelotti’s exit also signals a major change at Real Madrid, who will reportedly appoint Xabi Alonso as the new manager. After a brilliant season at Bayer Leverkusen, the former Madrid midfielder is set to sign a two-year deal, with his official presentation scheduled for June 1, according to Real Madrid Confidencial.
With this transition, both Brazil and Real Madrid are embarking on new paths with elite leadership, ambitious goals, and their eyes set firmly on the future.
