Boca Juniors Unveils New Kit
Boca Juniors is set to debut their new jersey in a highly anticipated clash against Cruzeiro in La Bombonera, marking the first leg of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana Round of 16. This special occasion will see the Xeneize club unveiling a fresh kit design that has already stirred excitement on social media, showcased by Uruguayan stars Miguel Merentiel and Edinson Cavani.
Designed by the iconic three-stripes brand, the new jersey introduces significant changes compared to its predecessor. The previous kit, which accompanied Boca to the Copa Libertadores final last season (where they fell to Fluminense), featured a wide band with square patterns in varying shades of blue. However, the new design opts for a lighter blue tone with a central mustard-colored stripe that includes vertical lines—a distinctive element never before seen on Boca's kits.
Fans have also noticed the unique collar, primarily yellow with a fine blue line, reminiscent of the jersey worn during the 2007 Copa Libertadores. That year, Boca clinched their last continental title under the guidance of Miguel Ángel Russo, with legends like Juan Román Riquelme and Martín Palermo leading the charge.
The new kit also pays homage to the La Boca neighborhood and the Ferrosur Roca freight railway, which runs alongside La Bombonera. The yellow stripe on the jersey features an innovative pattern inspired by railway tracks, highlighting the deep historical connection between the club, its neighborhood, and the culture of its passionate supporters.
