Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe to Seek Loan Deal for Arda Güler
Fenerbahçe is looking to secure the return of Arda Güler through a loan deal during the winter transfer window in January 2024.
The young Turkish midfielder, who signed for Real Madrid in 2023, has struggled to find playing time under Carlo Ancelotti, leading to frustration for both the player and those around him.
With limited opportunities and a desire to continue his development, Güler is open to a temporary return to Fenerbahçe, where he could take on a more prominent role.
Fenerbahçe’s interest in bringing back Güler has intensified following his limited game time at Real Madrid, where he has played fewer than 100 minutes this season. According to Turkish media reports, Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç is willing to meet with the player personally to finalize the deal, which would see Güler return to his former club and gain more consistent playing time.
Real Madrid is also open to the idea of a loan, believing that a move to a club where Güler can play regularly, especially in a competitive league like the Süper Lig, would benefit his development.
While Fenerbahçe is not the only club interested in Güler—teams from the Premier League and Bundesliga are also monitoring his situation—his former club remains the most likely destination. The Turkish side is determined to act quickly if Real Madrid gives the green light for the operation.
