Neymar's Farewell Message After Leaving Al-Hilal
The Brazilian posted a message on his social media directed at the team that has been his until now. In the words, he assures that he gave it all to play.
Brazilian forward Neymar bid farewell to Al-Hilal this Tuesday with a message on his social media, stating that he gave "everything" for the Saudi team, although he acknowledged that he would have liked to experience "better moments" on the field.
"To everyone at Al-Hilal, to the fans, thank you! I gave it all to play, and I wish we could have enjoyed better moments together on the field," said the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player.
Al-Hilal announced on Monday the termination of Neymar's contract and thanked Brazil’s number 10 with a message in Portuguese, wishing him "good luck."
Neymar arrived at the Saudi club in August 2023, but due to a severe knee injury and various muscle issues, he only managed to play seven matches. His departure from Al-Hilal, with whom he had a contract until mid-year, came about after Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus decided not to include him in the Saudi Pro League competition.
The contract termination also comes at a time when Brazilian media are reporting that Neymar is set to return to his former club, Santos, where he began his career before making the jump to Europe.
In his farewell message, Neymar thanked the Saudi Arabian government for providing him and his family with "a new home and new experiences."
"Now I know the real Saudi Arabia, and I have friends for life. I've always felt your love and passion for football. I will follow your journey as a club and as a country until 2034," when it will host the men's World Cup, the striker stated.
He added, "Your future will be incredible, special things are happening. And I will always support you."
Next stop: Santos
According to the Ge portal from Globo Group, Santos, which will return to Brazil’s top division this year, is already preparing a grand reception to celebrate the return of their 'prodigal son,' with the announcement expected in the coming days.
