Rodrygo Joins Real Madrid's Injury List
Rodrygo Goes left the Santiago Bernabéu pitch in tears after suffering a new muscular problem just 19 minutes into his return to Real Madrid's starting lineup against Osasuna.
Active from the start, Rodrygo, who was part of Carlo Ancelotti's offensive trident, made the first shot on goal with a distant strike. He was initially treated on the sidelines after feeling discomfort in his left leg and shortly after, he stopped abruptly during a counterattack, clearly feeling the injury, and signaled for a substitution.
It was the 19th minute when Rodrygo halted his run and collapsed onto the pitch. Overwhelmed with emotion upon being substituted for Brahim Díaz, he received a consoling kiss from his compatriot Éder Militao and a hug from Kylian Mbappé.
Rodrygo had previously injured himself on October 22 during a play where he assisted in Real Madrid's European comeback against Borussia Dortmund. After recovering from a rupture in his right femoral bicep, he reappeared in the match against Milan last Tuesday, November 5.
The new muscular issue is in his left leg, and Real Madrid will confirm the extent of the injury following an initial examination in the Santiago Bernabéu locker rooms.
