The Return of the Veterans to Mexico's National Team
The return of seasoned players Guillermo Ochoa, Andrés Guardado, and Raúl Jiménez stands out in the roster announced by coach Javier Aguirre for the friendly matches against Spanish club Valencia and the U.S. national team.
For the first time, the list includes Argentine-born forward Germán Berterame, who plays for Monterrey. Mexico will face Valencia on October 12 in Puebla and the U.S. team on October 15 in Guadalajara.
The Tri recently secured a 3-0 victory over New Zealand on September 7 and followed up with a goalless draw against Canada three days later. These were the first matches in Aguirre's new era, who previously led Mexico to the 2002 and 2010 World Cups.
