Will Guardiola Coach Brazil? Here's What We Know So Far
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has denied on Friday any contact with Pep Guardiola, the current manager of Manchester City, reaffirming their trust in the national coach, Dorival Júnior.
CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues addressed the rumors during the extraordinary general assembly of the organization. "Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches in the world. But we did not pursue him. The coach of the national team is Dorival Júnior," Rodrigues stated.
This clarification came after 'The Athletic', associated with 'The New York Times', reported that the CBF had been in "various contacts" throughout the year with Guardiola and was preparing a significant operation to hire the Catalan coach.

Guardiola's name has been linked with Brazil following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he has always spoken highly of the Brazilian team whenever asked by the media.
Brazil's current coach, Dorival Júnior, has gained some breathing room with two recent World Cup qualifier wins against Chile and Peru, which moved Brazil up to fourth place in the standings after a shaky start to the campaign.
On November 14th, Brazil will visit Venezuela, followed by a match against Uruguay in Salvador on the 19th.
