Zidane to Manchester United? Here’s What We Know
Zinedine Zidane has emerged as one of the top candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror.
After a poor start to the season under Ten Hag, which has left the club in the lower part of the Premier League table, rumors of a potential managerial change have gained momentum.
Zidane, the former Real Madrid coach, is seen as an ideal figure to take charge of the team, particularly due to his impressive track record, which includes three consecutive Champions League titles.
Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly identified Zidane as his dream candidate to turn around the club’s fortunes. Ratcliffe is a big admirer of the Frenchman and believes that his leadership and success in European football could restore United to the top of English and continental football.
Zidane, however, has been very selective about the projects he takes on, having turned down several offers since leaving Real Madrid in 2021.
Another potential candidate is Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager who won the Champions League with the club in 2021. Tuchel is also rumored to be in the running to replace Gareth Southgate as the next coach of the England national team.
