Legia Fly, Raków Crash

Two games in, only Legia and Jagiellonia remain flawless. Legia came from behind to beat Zagłębie, Jagiellonia edged Motor away, while Raków lost again and Jordi Sánchez's double couldn't save Wisła Kraków in a wild 4–3 defeat to Piast

🔥 Legia Keep Rolling

Marek Papuszun took over as a coach of Legia Warsaw on December 19, 2025, when the team was struggling in 17th place. At the end of the campaign he lifted the team up to a 6th-place finish and missed qualification for European competitions by a single point. Two rounds into the new season Legia are atop of the table with two wins. 
The latest victory for the Army Men came against Zagłębie Lubin, who impressed in Round 1 dispatching Piast Gliwice 2:0 at home. The Copper Boys took an early lead, but it was all Legia after that. Goals by Łukasz Zjawiński, Ruben Vinagre and Marcin Adamski secured a solid victory for the team from the Polish capital, who next play Korona in Kielce. 

🎯 Czubak Scores, Jaga Win

Karol Czubak scored 18 league goals last season for Motor Lublin. That impressive feat earned him a second place in the Ekstraklasa Golden Boot standings and a captain’s armband. Last Saturday Czubak’s first strike of the new campaign was erased by two Jagiellonia goals scored by Niko Prelec and Sergio Lozano. The side for Białystok won both their games so far and sit behind Legia in the standings.

📉 Raków's Nightmare Start

The 2022-23 champion Raków Częstochowa walked into the new season in a disappointing style losing two straight. On Sunday David Kroczek’s boys took the lead in Wrocław, but the newcomers answered with a brace between 86-90th minute thanks to Piotr Samiec-Talar’s goal and an assist. 
GKS Katowice earned their second 3:1 win over the last few days. On Thursday they beat Zilina and punched the tickets into the next qualifying Conference League round. On Sunday they were down at halftime to Radomiak, but a goal and an assist by Ilya Shkurin helped them get 3 points. 
Lech Poznań are trying to become the first team since Legia (2015-2018) to win back-to-back-to-back titles. After a disappointing loss to Aarhus in the Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday they beat Wieczysta in Kraków and remain undefeated. 

🍿 Game of the Week: Seven-Goal Madness

Piast Gliwice - Wisła Kraków (4:3). 42 attempts, 20 shots on target and 7 goals: all that happened in Gliwice on Saturday. The hosts stormed into an early 2:0 lead, but Wisła quickly responded with a goal and had a chance to level before halftime, but Marko Bozic missed the penalty shot. The Austrian striker redeemed himself with a tally in the 55th minute, but Piast went ahead 10 minutes later. In the 69th minute Jordi Sanchez scored his second of the night and league-leading 3rd of the season, but the last word belonged to Leonardo Sanca. The Portuguese winger directed home a pass from former FC Dallas player Ema Twumasi with two minutes left on the clock. 

A Look Ahead

The next round is highlighted by a meeting between two undefeated teams: Jagiellonia and Widzew Łódź. The Pride of Podlasie will look to remain perfect while the Reds will try to bring back at least a point. Two Wisłas will battle it out on Friday: the one from Kraków has the most goals scored so far and the one from Płock is yet to suffer a defeat. In Kielce Legia will go for their third win in three against Korona and Lech - after another short turnaround (they play the Faroe Island’s top team Klaksvíkar Ítróttarfelag in Europa League qualifiers on Thursday) - are going to play Piast at home. Due to European commitments both Raków and GKS’ games are postponed.
