Nacional secured an important 2-0 victory on their way to the Group Stage of the 2024 Copa Conmebol Libertadores against Academia Puerto Cabello, in a match where the Venezuelans looked unrecognizable and the Uruguayans took advantage to go ahead for their home game at the "Gran Parque Central". 

The goals for Nacional's victory were scored by Sanabria in the 11th minute and Christian Ebere in the 42nd minute. With this result, the Uruguayans hold an advantage heading into their home leg.
