Johnny Cardoso, the U.S. international midfielder, played a pivotal role in Real Betis' 1-1 draw against Real Madrid at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, in a LaLiga Matchday 26 showdown.

Cardoso’s First Goal for Betis

The New Jersey-born midfielder, who has Brazilian heritage, scored his first goal for Betis in the 34th minute, leveling the match after Brahim Díaz had put Los Blancos ahead.

His goal came from a perfectly delivered corner kick by Isco, with Cardoso rising above the Madrid defense to power a header past Thibaut Courtois.
