Chelsea Aims to Snatch Barcelona's Young Star
The British team is willing to pay Marc Guiu's termination clause.
Marc Guiu is very close to leaving Barcelona, as Chelsea has confirmed their desire to bring the young player to Stamford Bridge and is willing to pay the €6 million ($6.5 million) release clause. It's very likely that Barcelona's young talent will become a new player for the English team.
Barcelona intended to renew Guiu's contract, which ends in June 2025. However, Chelsea's offer is much higher than what Barcelona can offer, so the 18-year-old player is considering continuing his career in England.
Guiu also knows it will be very difficult to secure a starting spot under Hansi Flick at Barcelona. With Robert Lewandowski leading the attack and Barcelona's future bet on Vitor Roque, his chances are slim. This is another reason why Marc Guiu is considering a move.
