FC Barcelona Unveils New Mascot: CAT
FC Barcelona has officially introduced its new mascot, CAT, as part of the club's 125th-anniversary celebrations. The unveiling took place at a gala event at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, attended by legendary figures, club officials, players, and fans to honor Barça's rich history.
Who is CAT?
CAT is a wildcat, a species native to Catalonia, designed to embody the values and identity of FC Barcelona. Drawing inspiration from the club's crest, the mascot integrates iconic elements of Barça into its design.
The creation of CAT was led by the Grangel Studio, headed by brothers Carlos and Jordi Grangel, in collaboration with the club.
A Nod to History
This is not the first time Barça has introduced an official mascot. During the club's centennial celebrations in 1999, they unveiled Clam, a character designed by artist Max. Now, with CAT, the club aims to strengthen its bond with fans, particularly younger generations.
CAT’s debut is part of a series of initiatives marking Barça's 125 years of history, blending innovation with tradition to honor the club's legacy while looking toward the future.
