Flick Celebrates 60th Birthday With Barça Figures
Flick gathered his staff, including members of the coaching and media departments, to mark the occasion.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick celebrated his 60th birthday this Friday with a special lunch alongside his coaching staff and key club figures, including sporting director Deco, at the Ikibana restaurant in the upscale area of the city.
A Celebration Delayed by the Copa del Rey
The German manager turned 60 on Monday, February 24, but the proximity to the first leg of the Copa del Rey clash against Atlético de Madrid at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys forced him to postpone the celebration.
Among the attendees were his assistants Marcus Sorg, Toni Tapalovic, and Heiko Westermann, as well as delegates Carlos Naval and Toni Alonso. Also present were club doctor Ricard Pruna, sporting director Deco, football coordinator Bojan Krkic, and Joan Laporta’s senior advisor Alejandro Echevarría. Former player Thiago Alcântara, who was part of Flick’s technical staff earlier this season, was also in attendance.
Barça Prepares for Their Next Match
The gathering took place after Barcelona's first-team training session at the Joan Gamper Sports City, as they continue preparations for their LaLiga fixture this Sunday at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys against Real Sociedad.
Barcelona will return to training on Saturday at 11:00 CET (-1 GMT), and Flick is scheduled to hold a press conference at 13:00 CET (-1 GMT), where he will discuss the team's status and the importance of the upcoming match against the Basque side.
